A Look at Casino Games (Part 6)

Welcome back for the sixth part of Win A Day Casino's in-depth perspective of casino games. Slot games are very popular with our players for many reasons, but we also offer a great selection of table games. Today we're taking a look at how to play Craps.

Introduction

Casino Craps is one of the most exciting games in a casino. The game is fast paced and money can be gained quickly as well as rapidly lost. A player can be a Wrong Bettor, which is betting against the shooter, or a Right Bettor, which is betting with the shooter. Odds are, if you hear loud cheers or wailing, the source will be a craps table. Casino Craps has some of the best bets and some of the worst bets in a casino all on one table. While the game will be intimidating to the novice, once you understand the flow of the game and the bets, it will not seem too scary. However, even equipped with this knowledge, players will need to be confident enough to assert themselves in placing some of the bets. Luckily, most of the simpler bets to place are also the bets with the lowest house edge.

How To Play

The object of one of the biggest Casino games, Craps, is to bet on specific dice rolls occurring or reoccurring before other dice rolls. Craps is played on a table approximately 3 times the size of a blackjack table. The table has walls and a sunken layout. There is not a set limit on the number of players that a table can accommodate, however there usually will not be more than 12 players at a time. Space for placing your bets and holding your chips becomes precious after 10 players. A 4-man crew runs the game on a full sized table. There are 2 Dealers that place and payoff the player's bets at either end of the table during these casino games.

Rolling

Each roll starts with the comeout roll, followed by establishing a point, and finally, the resolution of the point. After the resolution of the point, a new roll is started. Players always roll the dice. Once a player establishes a point, then Sevens Out - rolls a 7 before the point is rolled again - the dice are passed to the next player to the left of the shooter. You may pass the dice if you don't wish to roll. If the shooter rolls his point before the 7, he holds onto the dice for another roll.

Good Advice

There are many ways to approach casino games like craps and tweaks to go along with all of them. The truth is simple is better. It's very tempting to get carried away with yelling out proposition bets and flinging chips all over the place, but simple and disciplined play will consistently produce better results. The Pass Line, Don't Pass, Come, Don't Come, Place 6/8, and taking odds are the bread and butter of the seasoned player. Those bets alone will be action enough without roaming into the more exotic bets.
